Boat Ride on Disney’s Sassagoula River to Disney Springs

On the final day of our Independence Day/my birthday weekend, we headed to Port Orleans Resort for a boat ride on the Sassagoula River. The destination was Disney Springs for breakfast at Earl of Sandwich and some shopping.

I love cross body bags and when I saw this one I couldn’t help but freak out a little. That made it easy for Rob to get me a thoughtful birthday present. Like this trip wasn’t enough, he had to buy me something too. How did I get so lucky?

The boat ride down the Sassagoula River was like nothing you would expect on Disney Property. It wasn’t over crowded and was very relaxing that you might even forget you are at Disney. Rob and I are boaters and have a 22 ft sailboat so when we discovered you can get around most of Disney property on boats, we decided that if the resort or park offers boat transportation to where we want to go, we are taking it. Watch the video below so you see what I mean!

The rain put an early end to a relaxing last day. We returned to Port Orleans Resort to taste the popular beignets which you can find in the Sassagoula Float Works and Food Factory. They offer the tables in Wonderland discount there. We made some birthday wishes in the fountain and then headed back home.
