After only 6 days of the Disney Skyliner being opened to the public there was an incident that caused them to collide at the station. Thankfully no one was hurt but many passengers were stranded in the gondolas for several hours before they were rescued. To view photos and to read more about it, CLICK HERE.
After 9 days of testing, the Skyliner finally opens back up to the public. According to Disney’s official website beginning today, guests may travel aboard Disney Skyliner from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. However, system updates later this week will result in the following modified operating hours for Oct. 16-18:
- Oct. 16: The Disney Hollywood Studios line will be closed while the other two lines will be available from 1 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
- Oct. 17-18: All lines will be open from 1 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Although no one knows the official cause of the collision, we are still comfortable knowing that Disney will fix and improve this new transportation system and we will definitely be riding it again on our next trip! The views were lovely, the breeze was calming and the quiet ride was very relaxing and a nice break from a normal day at Disney.
